Atlanta Winter Pests

Cold Temperatures Are About to Send Pests Running to Your House

Pests are coming. Are you prepared?

Last week, The National Pest Management Association released its bi-annual Bug Barometer forecast, a seasonal projection for how many pests each region is expected to see. This is based on weather patterns and pest biological behaviors.

According to the NPMA, Georgia should see a significant increase in mosquitoes, ants and cockroaches. Monitor Pest Control is dedicated to educating our customers and fellow residents in the Atlanta metro area.

If you are having pest problems, Monitor Pest Control is here to help. For those who are having cockroach or ant issues, there are some things that you will need to do in order to make your pest control visit as effective as possible. Here are ways that you need to get ready for your pest control professional, based on the pest that you’re having an issue with.

Cockroach Control Service

These days, pest control professionals in Georgia use gel bait insecticides to control and eliminate the cockroaches. Little gel beads will be placed in all of the areas where cockroaches are hanging out in your home. You will need to clean your home prior to the visit, and after the visit it’s important to keep your entire home as clean as possible, in order to eliminate food sources for the cockroaches, which will then make the bait more attractive.

Ant Control Service

Just like cockroaches, pest control professionals mostly use gel bait insecticides when baiting ants. This requires placing beads all around where ants have been feeding and trailing. In order for the visit to be efficient, please clean up beforehand. Following the visit, you’ll need to immediately clean up spills, vacuum the house thoroughly, and you should store food in ant-proof containers or inside the fridge.
