Why Do I Have A Fire Ant Problem?
Fire ants move to new nesting areas through many means both naturally and by accident. They can be brought into your yard after bringing new plants home from a nursery or can even be brought in on your car. Newly mated queens will naturally fly into a new area to make a nest and start a colony; if a colony is very large some fire ants will “bud off” with a new queen to start their own colony or if a colony is disturbed they will move to a different location.
