Cockroach Control & Extermination
What is an American cockroach?
American cockroaches are the largest of the home infesting roaches, usually reaching between 1.5 and 2 inches long. They have wings that are capable of flight, but they don’t usually fly and they are reddish-brown in color, with a section behind their head that has a small amount of brown or yellow. They are commonly found in restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, breweries and other establishments where food is prepared or stored. They like moist environments too and can be found in sewers, basements and typically on the first floors of buildings. They aren’t often found inside homes but have been identified in crawl spaces.
Are American cockroaches dangerous?
They don’t bite and they can’t physically hurt you, but cockroaches are known for spreading bacterial diseases that they pick up on the spines of their legs. They can foul food and even incite asthma in small children. They will also destroy personal belongings like books, papers and clothing and destroy wallpaper.

These pests are attracted to moist environments, and so if you have areas of dampness or moisture in your structure, you could run into an American cockroach infestation.
